About The Home Optimist

At The Home Optimist, we believe every home has a story—and our mission is to help clients discover and build the next chapter in theirs. Guided by a deep understanding of real estate, design, and community, we don’t just see houses; we see potential. Whether it's about turning a fixer-upper into a dream space or connecting with the perfect Portland neighborhood, we thrive on creating solutions that reflect our clients’ visions.

With a focus on sustainability and resilience, The Home Optimist isn’t just about buying or selling property—it’s about building a lifestyle, nurturing communities, and crafting a brighter future.

Evans Boyd has had a passion for real estate since childhood, when she and her mom would explore spec homes under construction and dream up stories of who might live there. That love for spaces, combined with academic achievements in architecture, art, and a master’s degree in landscape architecture, paved the way for her career as a real estate broker in Portland, Oregon.

Her journey includes years of community advocacy and neighborhood planning, giving Evans a unique ability to listen to people’s needs and find innovative ways to meet them. As a former assistant to Chylese Austin of Lark+Fir, Evans honed her practical real estate skills and developed a keen eye for uncovering hidden potential in homes and communities alike.

A passion for sustainability drives Evans in both her professional and personal life. She and her husband are actively renovating their own home with the ambitious goal of achieving net zero energy and water use. When she’s not working with clients or improving homes, Evans enjoys quality time with her family in the Cully neighborhood—whether tending to their backyard chickens or relaxing with friends.

Evans brings resourcefulness, empathy, and vision to every project, making even the most challenging real estate dreams attainable.
